Can I Go a Whole Day at Work Only Speaking in Questions? Part 1: The Hypothesis
Hello friends,
While failing to fall asleep tonight I had a thought. That thought quite simply was “What if I only speak in questions at work tomorrow”. Now you may be thinking, “Brendan that’s crazy” and you would be correct. However you may have overlooked the fact that I do not care. Of course that being said this may still seem a little unorthodox and silly to most of you. So let’s look at the facts:
I do not like being at my job and would much rather be anywhere else
I’m already quite good at my job and could use an extra challenge to spice things up
I don’t think I could get fired for that
After reading that I’m sure you’re on the same page now. So let’s continue with the plan which of course is quite simple. All I have to do is not speak in any imperative statements or exclamations that are not obviously also questions. Now to some of you this may seem impossible, and to that I say that is why I must prove you wrong. If I’m not striving for greatness what is even the point?
Obviously challenges to this experiment will be answering other’s questions, remembering to only use questions, and of course not being obvious. If anyone catches wind of what I’m doing it could land me in hot water, or at least an awkward situation. So of course I can’t stress this enough that none of you tip off any of my coworkers or managers, or else this whole experiment will be ruined. Fear not though, I’m confident this experiment will yield some sort of positive results. Although I’m not at all sure what those would be.
I’ll post my findings after work at some point. Wish me luck friends.
